AN APPEAL TO ALL CITIZENS

1. India contributes to more than 25% of global neonatal deaths. About 7.6 lakhs infants die within the first 28 days of birth.
2. GoI has set the goal of Single Digit Neonatal Mortality Rate by 2030. Presently, it is around 22 per 1000 Live Births. So, the Pediatricians and Pediatric Nurses have the renewed commitment to ending preventable newborn deaths.
3. Kangaroo Mother Care when scaled and implemented across all facilities can save upto 5 lakhs of newborn.
4. We, PEDGEN, have intended to overcome the barrier and bottlenecks for successful Kangaroo Mother Care.
